Just curious is there any well known figure that is not in the good books and disliked by the general public in your country ?

If so, who is it and why is he/she disliked ?

In Canada it's our PM. His politics, but more so the way he governs. Closing parliament when things get dicey for him. Never taking responsibility, always blaming others. Leave the country when he has to make an announcement that he know is not popular.
Having on foreign policy on the books and acting totally against that when travelling. Trip to Israel is the best example.
Environment issues. He is all oil and anti-science.

Ya know the list is soooooooo long, that if I don't stop now, my fingers will start to bleed if I continue.

People here in the east hate Harper. It's like the thing to do. What's funny is how harmless and funny-looking he is.

But I agree that he is all about the 'now' and not what happens next, which is obviously a lot more important. Good news is I can't imagine him being re-elected after this term by a longshot. The last election was practically cut in the middle.

Stephen Harper, the Prime Minister. Sorry, I thought the first poster mentioned his name initially.

He's an embarrassment certainly, and dangerous to himself, not Canada. Our PM is more of a true enemy of the country.

PM Abbott has his fair share, for sure. So did Gillard. These two seem to be the two most polarising/hated (well more the latter) pollies in recent years.

Right now Colin Barnett, premier of Western Australia, ain't the most popular bloke...in fact his office was vandalised recently. The WA government recently started culling sharks because they supposedly posed a danger to beach-goers. There were big protests against it.
