I thought I had a job, but I didn't! (employment, interview, application)

I thought that I had another job working as a security guard 40 hours per week, with full medical benefits after 30 days. I filled out the application, was interviewed, and asked to come back for training the next Tuesday (8hours). Then I was given more paperwork to fill out. In the meantime, the company submitted a background check on me (Social Security trace).
I went to my 8 hours of training (two of us were in the room), and after it was finished, that as soon as our background checks came in, we would be called to come in to talk to the scheduler and get uniforms.
So I got a copy of the background check myself in the mail over the weekend. I called them today, and was told that there are no open posts right now, and when there's an opening, they'll call me.
I think there's a lot of turnover in this area. It's lousy, but likely they want to have their next hire cleared and at the ready (and that will be you). Good luck.
I'm waiting to get back into the Federal Government. I've already had one interview with the Army, and the Navy has been referring my resume out, but I haven't been selected yet. Next week's project will be to hit more security companies, and beef up my federal resume some more, and maybe I'll get selected. I wanted to do full time security until the feds rehire me. But I have a part-time event security job, and event season will be here soon. But it won't get me off of unemployment!
