as you would for $10 - $12 or $15?

In other words, when it comes to the amount of effort you put out on your job, would you say that your employer...."gets what they pay for", or would you give 100 percent effort regardless of whether you were making $12,000 a year or $30,000 per year?

Just wondering, y'all

absolutely not; $8 is 75 cents above minimum wage here...my computer skills are worth way more than that. If skill is what they want it comes with a higher price.

This is the Standard Form 171.

http://www4.va.gov/vaforms/va/pdf/SF171.pdf (http://belize.usembassy.gov/media/pdf/sf172.pdf - broken link)

It's the standard employment application for the federal government. Read question 12. "What is the lowest pay you will accept?" Yes, "lowest" is bolded on the form.

So, what's the message the government is sending when that question is worded that way? The answer is "What is the least amount of work I have to do to keep my job?"

I've always worked the same regardless of the wage. For the most part wage has increased with responsibility.
But that is only my opinion.

If I like the job I would work just as hard as anything. As much as I love money and love love to spend it money isn't such a motivater. I want lots of money but I do understand it is the root of corruption and greed.

I want paid for what I do. If you want $8 per hour work, that's what you'll get. But, in reality (at this point in my life), I'd never work for that amount. Minimum wage is for minimum work employees. It's an insult.

I guess I'm the odd man out on this. I always do my best, regardless of the pay or job title. At the end of the day, I want to walk out, feeling that no one could have done as good a job as I did. It doesnt matter that the boss doesnt realize that; as long as I realize it, that's all that matters.
