Can this Happen? (job, office, training, good)

Has anyone ever heard of a detention Officer/ Jailor go from that too being promoted to being a patrol officer? I read that somewhere, anyone know?

If you get a job as a Detention officer, it's good training, you still will have to go thru the academy, it's not a direct promotion. That is, if you're talking a City Patrol officer, and also what city? Some sheriff's dept will allow that.

Im talking Dallas... I heard you can get promoted to Patrol Officer with a car.. Guess im wrong?
