I'm getting conflicting information about Tier 2 emergency UC. I've just exhausted my EUC. Will I get Tier 2 now? I live in PA. I just read somewhere that after the regular EUC, you go right to Extended Benefits, which are half of the regular amount, and you need to show proof of job searching for one month, and then are required to take any job you can get. Did a law just pass regarding Tier 2, changing everything?
Thanks in advance....

hmm where are you reading your information from?

Pennsylvania has a pretty good site, not as good as some states, but pretty good.

here is the PA link:

L&I: Emergency Unemployment Compensation (EUC) Frequently Asked Questions

well showing job hunting for the past 8 months should be easy for you, ii would imagine....

every state can implement rules as they see fit, but if you want the buck stops here information then you should rely on the the government site, NOT online news or even newspaper news...

good luck

p.s. You get a total of 59 weeks! if you haven't received that yet, then your chances are possible that you will get more, unless you are eligible for a new claim or you didn't make enough in your base year.

p.p.s. All i can say is thank you mother earth that we don't live in Wisconsin...because there you would be eating out of trash cans after Feb. 28th!

Thumbs up good news

Thanks so much for the quick and reassuring response. I actually found the information about Extended Benefits on the PA UC website, but I must have misread it. I guess the EB then kicks in after tier 2 is completed. I am so relieved, thank you!! What's happening in Wisconsin?

Okay, I think pennsylvanians are in a pretty good state, since our governor Rendell did not balk at signing the trigger. Where Wisonconsin's governor did, although it is possible that he/she has relented, but their state site still says 20 weeks ONLY and you get cut off at February 28, 2009!

If I lived there you and I would be screwed!!
