My wife was let off 3 hours early at her place of employment. But no one said anything to me at my mine, so I worked a full day. Since Independence Day falls on a Sunday this year, we both get the Monday off.
We get out two hours early on Fridays during the summer and then due to some computer work going on, we were released an hour earlier than usual today. So only a five hour work day today.
Monday is the 4th holiday and then two more days of computer upgrade days off.
I will go back to work next Thursday but expect nothing to work right, so am planning on doing next to nothing. Then Friday we will have the two hours off for the summer.
Poll wasn’t there when I first saw it. I shall vote.
EDIT TO ADD: For holidays that fall on a Monday, we get the prior Friday off. Since July 4 falls on a weekend this year, the holiday is celebrated Monday. We get Friday prior off, When it falls during the week, through Wednesday we get the day prior. If it falls on a Thursday, no day before, but we get the day after off.
So you get 2 days off for every holiday? How many holidays do you get? I notice you didn't mention holidays falling on Friday or Saturday.
My answer would be "none". I work for a school district, and school is closed for the summer. During the week, I'm doing my summer babysitting gig with my grandsons, though...I "worked" 12 hours on Friday!!!!
Since the 4th is a Sunday, my company is observing Monday as the holiday. We get the full day off.
If it were Saturday, we would then get the full Friday before off.
All of those people get the Monday off too...this is companies letting people out early on Fridays ahead of holidays as an extra 'perk'.
In my company that is not done, but Friday afternoons things start slowing down dramatically anyway 9 times out of 10 whether it's a holiday or not.
