Do YOU act the way you do in real life?

My kids are smart kids who know what they're doing in life. They're smart, strong kids. I am not worried about them drowing, this isnt at all what this thread was about. They are fortunate to have ME not her. You should probably get a life. Feel free to go away. There's nothing mighty or queen like about you.
Your kids aren't that smart at 5 and 7. They may be smart for their age, but they can still be taken advantage of by older, smarter people. You SHOULD worry about them drowning, since that can happen in just a few inches of water. You should also worry about jellyfish and stingrays. Kids need to be supervised when in the water. Period.

And they are being supervised. 3 of those supervised hours cost $20 an hour

And you apparently can't do math since you keep claiming the babysitter is paid $100 for 3 hours of work at $20/hr

Why do you even care about her taxes? If it's just 3 hours a week while you work, then it sounds like it's a summer gig. You really worried about the $700 or so dollars she isn't claiming on her taxes?

I never saw your answer, do you only work 3 hours a week? Or where do the kids go the rest of the work week? Or even the rest of the work day, unless you only work 3 hours a day.

I already said she gets some extra for the time it takes to get here and back and some gas money. But you're right i guess I might as well say its $33.30 an hour.

I was merely trying to spark a debate. I got one.

You versus the world isn't really a debate though, is it?

Thread temporarily closed for mod review.

Shame on all of you who have engaged in personal attacks, bickering and hijacking with off-topic comments.

Okay, I've just finished reading this entire thread. Good grief, people. I'm not going to spend hours deleting all of the off-topic remarks and personal attacks. I'll leave the thread intact as an example of how NOT to conduct yourselves on a discussion board.

Since the OP stated multiple times that she only started the thread to vent (despite the title of the thread), I'm suggesting that next time she do so in a blog.

Finally, I moved the thread from Non-romantic Relationships to Work & Employment. The thread will remain closed.
