Take the offer that is best for YOU. Rescind the acceptance, telling them exactly why you did.

This will inform them their salary level is below Fair Market Value, and hopefully they will learn from the experience.

Go where the many is better and you stand to advance faster as well. Also choose where you think you'll be happiest at.

Great questions....The second one appears to have more flexibility with the work hours. The benefits are the about the same and I would probably have more promotion opportunity with the second position as the company is growing. I could go to either one and have hell but I get your point.

It's your life! Take the job you want to take! No one is paying your bills and working your job but you, so do what's best for YOU and don't worry about it! If that means accepting the newer job offer, than so be it. Tell the first job that you appreciate the job offer, but you have decided to accept an offer elsewhere.

Thanks everyone. I just felt bad about it....I didn’t mention that the HR person is someone that was HR at a previous job I had years ago....( I didn’t know that until the interview) That’s the main reason I felt that way. I did ask for more money in negotiations but didn’t get it. I had a good nights sleep and I’m better now....lol...I have to do what’s best for me and my family and the send job is a better opportunity all around.

I see this is an old thread but still relevant issue.

I regret several missed opportunities over the years and was seldom rewarded for long term loyalty. I saw coworkers give 110% for years, then get downsized and escorted to the door for their efforts.

To all, do what's best for you and your families.

This is a good reminder that company has no loyalty to its employees anymore. So why should you?

You have not started working for the company yet so it's easier to rescind the offer. Even if you had started working, all you owe them is a courtesy 2 week notice.

There is zero company loyalty now. They will show you the door without a thought. No longer do we have 35 year-long jobs at companies that give pensions and gold watches. Always look after yourself first as no one else will. Take the better job offer!
