Yes, we do. We just don't drink coffee and tea. I'm enjoying my first Diet Coke of the day as we speak.

If they're doing it as a "steal the gift" type exchange, then definitely go for the unique and funny. Think of it as an ice-breaker type of exercise. One year, I got a pair of dinosaur slippers that did the Godzilla roar. Loved those! If it's just a straight gift swap, I agree, avoid coffee, tea, sexual-innuendo gifts. Go with high quality consumables - maybe a box of the best local chocolates, if you live in SLC. Even if the recipient is a diabetic, they have kids and grandkids who would enjoy them.

How about one of those Bluetooth trackers? It's a small device that clicks on your keys, purse, etc., so you can find it when it's lost. This time of year there are special deals for multiples at or near your price point.

I personally would go with Barnes and Noble. I can't imagine anyone with an above average IQ who could not find something they would like there (plus it is very easy to order online from then, and if one is a member, there are no shipping charges) --AND there are no "extra" charges for using it (or not using it).

Just looking at this thread you are not going to be able to please everyone. There are many suggestions I love, many I think what in the world?? It's a gift exchange, try not to overthink it. If someone gets something they don't like it sucks, but it isn't the end of the world.

Why can't he just give someone a 40$ gift card from some popular place that he's sure most people would enjoy.

Why don't you all just swap two $20 bills? Fun for all.
