There are jobs.....well at least here. I saw at least 3 places hiring today. The problem is, people who are looking for jobs say no to certain jobs and then say there aren't any jobs.

Nothing like undergoing CIA-like entrance interviews for 30-40k a year. Gotta keep looking for those purple squirrels. You may as well search for Noah's Ark

This Country is a MESS. Bottom line
Again, there are plenty of jobs around. If you guys insist on using your personal experience to reflect the job market, then allow me to do the same.

My fiance and I have been wanting to relocate to another particular state for a while. We finally decided to make the move this incoming January. A month ago, I applied to a company in the state we want to go to and got an offer right away. Ever since, I've gotten 3 more offers from other firms there. I just got offered a job here locally by another firm which I gracefully turned down explaining to them we will relocate in a few months. And every one of these jobs offered me a 6 figure salary.

So, from my personal experience, the job market at large must be desperate and can't find enough people to fill the available positions.

I wouldn't say America stinks when it comes to jobs. At least not completely. But yes, gaining employment is often an extremely frustrating game.

I believe there actually are still quite a few jobs out there. I think what's changing is the geographic distribution of jobs. There are certain regions that attract more than their share of economic activity, and people who live outside of those regions are often at a distinct disadvantage when it comes to reaching their professional ceilings or, in many cases, even getting jobs at all.

Here's an interesting book on the subject: The New Geography of Jobs

In the last couple of months I have seen help wanted signs all over. I also checked the websites like Indeed and I do see more jobs than I have in the past 8 years.
As far as education goes you need to thank Common Core for that mess. Many students graduating high school and going into college have to take remedial courses as they aren't up to college level work. It seems to me that the students haven't been taught even the basics let alone anything leading to a career with a specialized education. The Board of Education has been selling this "critical thinking" crap which hasn't led any of the students to any thinking at all.

If you can't find a job there is something wrong with you. Stop trying to blame it on the world.

OP,
What line of work are you in? And perhaps go into much more detail.

Post reads like you're just pissing and whining.

Excellent reasoning! Not qualified??
Yeah, got it. The trained and yrs of experience worker isn't qualified to accept the poor pay and offer that at any time with any reason they can fire you. Because A: they are down sizing. B: my kid needs your job so ...Your not a fit anymore. Or 3: fresh meat...
So pardon if it's true that companies are not able to sell their lame excuse to the qualified.

Yes, in fact we have 23 openings right now companywide, and I have two, interviewed for the first last week, and the second is still open. Our Sunday Seattle Times has been running 2 pages of job listings, most in tech and engineering. All of the retailers and fast food places have “Help Wanted” signs. There are plenty of jobs, if you have the experience and skills and can beat out the other applicants.

There are tons of jobs out there for quality people, not face-tattooed drug addict subhumans though
