Hey, I am currently in nursing school (BSN) in MA. I plan on moving out of Boston once I am finished. I will have relevant experience through Children's Hospital in Boston. I was thinking around Ft. Lauderdale FL since they have a children's hospital or somewhere in California. Just anywhere near the beach is a must. I have no idea how the wages are over there. I have researched but I'm not sure how accurate it is. I also speak fluent Portuguese. I was wondering where it would be best to live as a single 25 year old nurse. Thanks in advance!

I used to live in Santa Clara, CA, and there was a large Portuguese community hall just down the street from where I lived and they would parade to the church on many Sundays with the little girls all dressed up, etc. So, I'd assume there must be a sizable population in the SF Bay Area.

I found their facebook page. Maybe someone on their page could give you some ideas:

Do you have nursing experience or just Cna experience?

Big difference.

Most nurses just cannot jumped into oncology, you MUST know you need Med-surg experience first.

I wonder if that is still taught nowadays..
