OP, I don't know what the norm is, but I'd be thrilled to death with a 5% raise. I can only dream of a windfall like that. Congratulations!

I a few months shy of my year mark and I went from 39K to 41K. Plus also from $1050 yearly bonus to $2050. That is the best raise I've ever received but don't if that is the norm for a large company. I do sales support and did have a very good review of my work.
Not amazing, but still respectable.
Our organization (~12,000 employees) has been averaging around 0.5% annual raises for the last decade (~$200 in your scenario) which seems to be the norm in our area and industry. We eliminated COLAs in the 80s and went to a flat structure with no promotions in 2007.

Cost of living increases, 1-2.5% or so, aren't raises. They're to keep you at the same level in real dollars. If there is inflation and you don't receive a pay increase you're taking a cut in salary.
Considering last two years my company didn't offer raises, and the year before that my raise was 0.6% cuz the company was falling on "hard times" I think it's good. At least last year I got a $3k bonus.
