Lately at my retail job whenever the cart corral inside is empty or almost empty the manager would wander around the store and find me and tell me that I need to go out and get carts outside the parking lot instead of paging for any available employee to go outside and get carts in the parking lot, it's been pissing me off that the managers expect me to go out and get carts outside when it's supposed to be every salesfloor employee's job to do so, I personally don't feel that it's right for the management to expect me to go out and get carts.
Most of the employees I work with never seem to bother going outside to get carts.

It's very simple ... do your job and get the carts ... or quit.

The awful truth? You're considered the bottom of the ladder there and that's all you can be trusted to do.
Before you whine about how mistreated you are, consider for a moment -- really consider -- if your contributions are even close to that of the other employees.
Then figure out how you can be more valuable. Or quit.
My gosh! Your boss is expecting you to do some work for your paycheck? How unfair.
If you want to get ahead, go out and fetch carts and be the very best cart fetcher they've ever had. If you are an eager efficient worker, then it won't be long before the boss starts asking you to do the more important jobs because he will trust that you will do them to the best of your ability.
It doesn't hurt a bit if you can manage to be cheerful about it.
I am a really good worker who gets a lot done and contributes more to answering calls, performing my duties and helping customers than some of my other employees, there was one day I've had to go out and get carts 4 times in one day and I've felt like my co-workers think I'm in charge of getting the carts when in reality it should be everyone's responsibility, I remember it would be the people upfront who would call us to go out and get carts but they all the sudden stopped doing that.
Your manager has determined that you are better utilized rounding up carts, then being on the sales floor. Doesn't this tell you something? If it doesn't, you will likely be fetching carts (or the equivalent) for a long time.

I have been told by my other managers that I do a good job working on the salesfloor and in the back room with the projects they assign me to do, if anything I have been told by my other co-workers that I get a lot done and they wish more people were as hard working as me while working on the salesfloor and in the back room.

Then does it seem surprising to you that your manager is constantly taking you off the floor to fetch carts?
