It will be 2 years in February. I was at my job before this one for about 9 months. Just a terrible boss to work for. Before that I was with my employer for over 9 years (enough to get vested in the pension plan).
Very cool. You must have bought your home years ago. LOL I have a coworker that grew up in Malibu. His parents bought their home in the 60's and it sits on a 1+ acre lot. He always likes to say that his dad lives in the worse house on the best street in Malibu. The home is the same as it was when they bought it, 3 bedroom 1bath. He told me his parents were looking for something that they could afford and where his dad worked they could not afford to live there. Good thing that worked out for them because the land that house sits on is now worth $5 or $6 million from what I am told.
11 years with current company, 9 years in current position.
I tend to stay at places long. Last company I stayed with for 12 years.
My very first job with a retail store--I stayed 8 years (high school, college, and a little post-college)!
This coming Valentine's Day, I will have been with my employer for 32 years. That's my day-time, mortgage-paying "job". In the evenings, I teach at the local community college a couple times a week and have been doing that for eleven years now.
