I KNOW im posting a lot but im frustrated today... another story (interview, owner)

well LAST Friday i was supposed to meet with the owner of Mod cut: company name deleted for a lunch/interview at a different restaurant at noon..... which is about a 45 minute drive from me

i get there at 1130 and around 1145 i get a phone call from her assistant saying she had to go on an important impromptu business trip and apologized... NOT THE LADY I WAS GOING TO INTERVIEW WITH
her ASSISTANT. And she said she would call me next week and reschedule. Well around Thursday i don't hear ANYTHING back from her and i leave a voicemail saying how i would love to still reschedule

but still havent heard anything

how [Snip]rude is that though cancel 15 minutes PRIOR to the interview....

I am about to email her back and tell her off I really don't care cause thats just Mod cut: Inappropriate language.

As tempting as it is, don't burn bridges. Working in the restaurant industry as long as you have, you know that it is a tight knit group and word travels fast.

You just named the restaurant on a public forum, and the time and date of your interview. Then told her to go blank herself. Im pretty sure you just burned some bridges.

yea cause she kept me in the back of her mind and was waiting for the right time to call me

I'm sorry for you bad experience with this company. I had an interview with a company I'd worked for previously (different city, different division) for five and half years. She told me that the job was mine. But I didn't get hired for any of the four positions. And she lied when her supervisor asked what happened- told her I had had to reschedule the interview. Not true. She rescheduled on me! She was put on the spot and lied.

What I know is this...

1. Employers say things they don't mean.
2. Employers are fickle, they can afford to be...
3. It's a employers market out there!

I have to put this behind me. Take the good things- she wasn't a good boss, don't take things personally. And know that it is a numbers game. You never know when the number will come up and you'll find that right job!
