No. I make a decent amount of money and I have an interesting job that I like.

I couldn't stand the boredom, repitition and noise of assembly line work.

In a nanosecond! Sign me up. Double my salary, I have no people to deal with, no deadlines, no reports, no projects due, just show up and screw widgets all day?! Awesome! No e mail, no voice mail, just show up, screw widgets, break at 10-10:15, back on the line, lunch at 12:30, back online at 1300, screw widgets, break at 1430, back to widgets, off at 1630.... I would love it! I could easily do that for the next 20 years. Hook up to my I Tunes, and rock out all day...don't have to talk to anyone...I would get XM radio...can I wear jeans and shorts to work? No suits, heels or pantyhose? No more mind numbing travel with co workers I can't stand? Geez, this is a cruel fantasy....because, back to reality....

There's nothing saying they have to give you a break. Many companies do not offer the old standard, 2 breaks a day. That was an easy choice when deciding what to cut. Your hands wouldn't get tired "screwing in widgets all day"? That uses the same muscles in the hand over and over again. Mine would be aching.

AMEN. I would love to screw widgets instead of dealing with all of the above.

Oh God, the worst job I ever had in my life was when I worked on an assembly line when I was about 19. It did pay twice what I was making anywhere else, but after 3 weeks I couldn't take it any more. I would sit and parts would come down a conveyor belt to me and I would put a rivet in the hole and step on a pedal to secure the rivet into the part, then I would put the part back on the belt for the next person in line to do their thing,

I would do what seemed like a thousand rivets and when I would look at my watch 5 minutes had passed. The night went so slow it was absolutely painful to work there. But there were people on that line who had been there for 20 years and they were whistling while they worked !

Nope, no amount of money could get me to ever work on an assembly line again.

That sounds like heaven. No email, no phone calls, no clients, no dealing with federal regulations, no overseas offices, etc.

Plus get paid twice the money.

Yeah, but a trained monkey could also so it. I need more stimulation in my job than to do the same repetitious task over and over and over and over and.............

You're an extrovert aren't you?

I'm an introvert. I like to live "inside my head." Slap on some headphones and do basic repetition. One happy gal.

That must be it , because, as I said, there were people on that line for 20 years who were as happy as clams. The guy behind me was always whistling. I guess everyone likes different things, but I was bored to death.

(and yes, I am an extrovert.)
