My friend and I have been looking for work non stop applying to 3-5 jobs a day and not any call us back. We're not sure what to do to get a job we keep applying and nothing is happening.
Another thing I noticed with replying to job Ads is in the ADs itself it says the following;
Having a car is a plus - having your driver license is a plus
When they say this "plus" thing is that a MUST HAVE or it doesn't matter?
Where are you applying? How are you applying? Online? Through emails? You have a typed up resume? Are you putting down that you have a car and driver's license or at least putting "I have reliable transportation" on your application somwhere?
My suggestion is if you are emailing your applications include a cover letter. Also clean up your resume, use a nice template through word, don't use anything that is too busy, nice and simple and easy to read is best.
Google some cover letter examples but mostly you want to put something like you are interested in a position with them, and skills you can offer, and thank them for their time. Cover letters helped me get my last two jobs

Anything that's mentioned as a plus is really a requirement, because someone with everything else equal to you will have it.
It used to be a little bit of an advantage, but when 100+ people apply for every job, the competition is much harder and they may screen out that don't have the "plus" just to get to manageable numbers for interviews.
Yeah I don't have a car or driver's license thats the only problem when I apply to most jobs. And I apply to jobs through Craigslist and sometimes other sources like Monster.
So how do you get around? Do you have some sort of reliable transportation? Such as taking a bus or something? If so, put down I have reliable transportation and if they ask what say you take the bus and have no problem doing that.
what type of jobs are you looking for? I wouldn't really go on monster as I still get spam from them and phone calls from places after removing my resume.
Perhaps you should reread the other responses to your other 15 posts on this same topic. Many have given you good advice which you choose to ignore or challenge. The answers are there.
Well, for one, it's illegal to ask if a person has a car. They can ask if you have "reliable transportation", but it is illegal to discriminate based on something that is a privelage, not a right.
