I would use most of them at least. Maybe use 3 days, take Thanksgiving week off, one long weekend and one day off to do some Christmas shopping.


I wouldn't take a long weekend every weekend when you are the new guy. Seems kind of cheesy.

Stay under the radar on this matter and take random middle of the week days off.

We are allowed to accumulate up to a maximum of 700 hours, about 18 weeks. We also frown upon a bunch of single days, and would probably deny someone taking 5-6 long weekends in a row, preferring that you take the days all at once. Part of the reason for granting vacation time is rest and stress reduction to help you work better when you return. That often doesn't happen on a camping trip or other vacation where you are running around trying to do a lot in a short time. Try staying home and doing little or nothing for 5 days, you may find it refreshing.
