“U MAD?”, sometimes written as “you mad?” or “u mad bro?”, is a popular catchphrase that is often used in discussion threads to imply that someone is losing their temper during the course of an argument, and is often used to taunt or bait others into a flamewar. Due to the incendiary nature of the phrase, it is often considered a form of trolling.

At least you can write them off. Carry on, you will get something better.
Longest time to receive a rejection was four months for me. That's not counting the places I sent applications that never even bothered to acknowledge I sent them anything in the first place. I had forgotten I ever applied to that position by the time I got that rejection email!

I liked to post the trollface along with it, but it (and any picture I ever posted) was always deleted as "copyrighted".

I would be even funnier if the guy was so bad the person he hired was on that list and is now sitting there wondering wth kind of a place it is.

Anyway at least it was an entertaining rejection, maybe a chance to "network" with the other losers too.
I wouldn't be surprised at all if the person who was hired also got the rejection e-mail. "those who can't do anything do HR".

I once got an actual rejection letter on the 3rd day of my new job.

I also once got a rejection letter from the employment office of a well known univeristy that I was currently working at for 5 yrs. The letter started off by thanking me for my interest in the univesity but I wasn't a good foot(ummm....I worked 3 buildings away on the same campus). That one I hand delivered to the head of that dept.

Things have gotten worse since then.

Haha.

Employee: I quit!

Boss: No, you can't quit...you're fired!

At least he let you know. That's more than 99% of them do these days.

78 rejected, so 79 applied. Its not uncommon for our subsidiaries to get 250 apps for positions paying about the same as the receptionist spots.

In this economy, I'd expect hundreds to apply for low-paying stuff, and 1,000 or more for higher level positions.

Good God, over 78 people for a receptionist position. Makes me feel so pessimistic for me to find a job in my field. Uuugghhhh!

Best of luck though on finding something!

Yes that is what I said - a receptionist position.

I guess there are just not enough qualified people in my local area that have the "skills set" to pick up a phone and transfer calls.
Do you even known what the job description for a "receptionist" is at this company?

I have seen some that required working knowledge of about six office software programs, as well as other duties and were not "low paying".
