Does anyone have any suggestions for estimating a salary range for a position? I've tried looking at Salary.com, Glassdoor, etc. but there's nothing remotely close to the position I'm interviewing for.
I was going to go with the generic route of my current salary + Cost of Living difference + 5-10% increase based upon it being a promotional opportunity.
The main problem with this route is that I don't want to offend the organization by asking for too much... and yet I don't want to get screwed by low-balling myself.
We're talking in the 100k+ range here, so the comparisons are a bit harder on the various sites.
The job has to do with FISMA implementation in a large service oriented environment (Compliance Management). 7 years of experience in Infosec (I have 10). Area is in the Kent/Seattle/Bellevue, WA area.

Your age? If you're past late 30s, 135K is reasonable for that area.
Base pay Seattle area: $104 - $120k
Total direct pay (Includes bonus) $108 - $129K
Limited match info, sorry. Above is for an IT Security Manager (with staff) with 7+ years Exp. in Seattle
There is no specific technology indicated in my database which assumes hiring company will find technically qualified candidates.

Thanks a lot. The area I was targeting was 110-120, so this sounds pretty accurate.
