That's great that you found one willing to overlook the gap and instead look at your qualifications, however there are some that won't even bother looking if a gap exists. I didn't say all were that way.

I've never said anything to dispute that, though I'd contend that your earlier comment about 'most employers won't bother' to be a bit of a sweeping statement. I had a number of interviews during my year off work, before landing a position. Are there employers who will see a gap and throw the application in the garbage? Of course, and I've never suggested otherwise.
