Because banks and credit card companies don't want to give college kids with bad credit (due to medical bills from when I was a minor) credit cards. And because with a credit card, you don't have to pay up front, you gain interest on your bills, and you can get in debt really easily. Some people are disciplined enough to pay off their bill every month but the fact is a majority of Americans have credit card debt and many of them are buried in it.

People are too damn childish these days. Be a man and stop gossiping; not that woman gossip.

People have to stick their noses in your business, be fake, love gossiping, and make life and work stressful for other people. I wish people would live their own lives.

People like this who concerns themselves with what type of car a coworker is driving keep nothing to themselves.

This is the office s**t stirrer.

i dont really talk to anybody much at work. i remote most of the week. actually am in the building for maybe 5 hours a week.

i understand where dublin comes from, but im not into the gossip game.

simply was bored and wanted to see if there was something interesting.

im not dumb enough to risk my job spreading around gossip.

i always think its interesting though seeing who you really work with.

Wow, that's invasive. Would you want someone snooping around you like that? Unless I was hiring someone whose job carried a lot of responsibility and care for other people (like medical personel ), it' none of my business nor do I want it to be.

There's just too much information readily available about everyone for everyone sometimes.

I dont see any problem with checking who you are working with, it is public info and that is why it is.

Same here ... I don't want to pry into my colleague's personal business as I would not wish for them to pry into mine.

Okay, I confess in the past I have looked up how much people have paid for their houses to get an idea of how much money they might make. Of course I only used that information for pricing myself in the job market (and I realize it's not even that accurate considering people have working spouses, inheritances, etc). And for the record, I don't care if they look up how much I paid for my house. Heck, they could ask and I'd just tell them.

I'm content with my salary now so I haven't done that in years. But back when I had no clue what I was supposed to be making, it was at least some information.

I've never done criminal, credit, Facebook or even Google searches for my coworkers. That's HR's job.

Thank you so much for saying so!!!! I was angrily attacked by another poster a while back when this was discussed on another post. (It was called "nebbiness", whatever that means). You can't be too careful these days - my daughters avoided a few young men who turned out to be trouble. By the time someone is charged with a crime and convicted, it's docketed and in the papers anyway, and public knowledge.

Love is blind and when our kids are in love they may not see well enough the problems that their new friend brings to the table. I am with you especially when these people may end up in my home.
