This morning I received an email about a "job opportunity." It purportedly came from a company called Crescent City Delivery. Because the content instantly aroused my suspicions, I forwarded the email to the actual Crescent City Delivery company in Kenner Louisiana.
They responded promptly (dang near instantly, in fact) that the email did not come from them, that it was a scam, and that they had notified the FBI.

Once employed, you will receive all instructions about the incoming packages via a dedicated online control panel, which you will access using your login and password.
After a package comes to you, you need to:
1. Open the box and check If the contents of the package accord to the description given online.
2. Report your manager about the checking results and put an online status of the package as delivered.
3. Your manager will create a pre-paid shipping label and attach it to your online panel, next to the previously reported package. You also will receive new invoice which you will put into the box instead of the old one (which you must throw away)
4. You are to ship the package within 24 hours after your manager creates the shipping label.
5. After the shipping you need to access your panel and put "shipped" status on it.

Is anyone really dumb enough to do this? Next thing you know they will be mailing checks to cash telling you they need the money for a wedding/dying child. Just cash it wand keep some for yourself!
I have the same question. What information were they intending to get out of this, other than maybe an email address?
I can only speculate, 'cause there's no way I'm gonna seek to find out. With that said, (a) they could be trolling for enough personal information to begin draining your accounts, (b) get you to pay for COD packages with the promise of quick reimbursement, then simply not reimburse, or (c) some combination of a and b.
