Hi John,

I'm Marjorie Van Nuis (from San Diego). My friend Jackie and I were in Asheville looking at homes just prior to your arrival. (My husband couldn't take the time off work so Jackie came to help me look.) We had the pleasure of meeting the Parkies; they're an amazingly gracious couple.

I love your photos! Is the photo of the water the Swannanoa River inside their development? It's just beautiful.

I'm following your adventures as you look for a home. I spent three days looking with realtors two weeks ago and I'll be coming back again for more house-hunting some time in late Feb. or very early March, bringing my husband for a few days (weekend only for him due to work).

Hopefully we can all meet and share house-hunting stories.

Hi Marjorie. Yes, the is the River in their development.

We went out with them today and found three homes we really like, but each has a problem or two. The one we liked best is kind of big (over 3,000 SF) and is sold "as is" because it is in foreclosure (apparently). But the price is amazing for the size and location - just $279,000!
