We are moving to Brevard area this summer, have already purchassed a .75 acre land, and need help in finding a good reliable builder. We'd appreciate any reccomandations in this matter. We don't have a problem in paying for a good builder as long as he does a decent job. What we don't want is to spend $200+/sq foot and not be happy with the results. Would also help to know what builder NOT to use!
Appreciate any names of trustworthy, reliable builders! Thanks
you will have to go with an individual, not a builder such as kb, centex, ryland... i am sure there are some good mom 'n pop builders in the area though.

We are building in Brevard and are using an EXCELLENT builder. He has been very efficient, stayed on budget so far (we are about 1/2 way finished) and seems to always come up with creative ideas to save us cost. It is Cardinal Building Systems owner is Jack Scheider and number is 828-877-4650. Tell him the Harris's sent you!
Off-topic from the original post, but are log homes as energy efficient, generally speaking? Does the greater thermal mass compensate for the lower R-values?
Thanks.
