I'm living in Wisconsin and we're thinking of moving to the Lenoir area. I'm searching the internet EVERYWHERE for any kind of info I can get and can't seem to find much
Anyone familiar to that area? Any nice smaller communities around there? I'm trying to look for other nice towns around that area, but can't seem to find info.
If you've got great sites for me to visit or have any opinions, Please let me know!

Thanks,
Jennifer

Lenoir is a nice area, but kind of depressed economically due to the furniture manufacturers who have all pulled out over the last 10 years. Your best bet for employment closest to Lenoir would be in Hickory, 15 minutes away.

Thanks! That's awesome to know. I'm trying to find other small little towns around there that are nice. My husband works for a company up here that also has a plant in Lenoir so he could transfer - guess that's really why we were looking at Lenoir. I'll look into Hickory!

Well, also check out Taylorsville near to there too. It is a great little town with views of the mountains too.

Thanks again I would LOVE to see mountains, especially in place of this snow.

Default From Hickory Nc

Hello,
I live in Hickory,NC, and it is about a 15 minute drive to Lenoir. There are some small little town's in between the two.You can get on 321 North and drive through Hickory, Granite Fall's, Hudson, and Sawmill's. You can drive through all of these small town's within 15 minutes. How small of a town do you want to live in? There are lot's of rural area's surrounding these town's. All of these are nice places, not over crowded, and only fourty five minutes away from the mountain's. If I can help you out with anything just let me know. Hickory is the largest city.
CATHY

Taylorville is great.
We have just purchased land in Taylorsville and are having a house built.
We can't wait to move down in July.
Every chance we get , we come down for a visit.
