Morganton? (Shelby, Granite Falls: house, to buy, schools)

Hi, I am waiting for my house closing to wrap up, and wanted to know some info about Morganton.

I am looking to buy with the next 2 months. I love Morganton and Southeast Caldwell County near Granite Falls.

Can anybody give me some pros/ cons to raising a family in each area?

Example: community feeling, schools, quality of life. We are so excited to finally be living with family in Shelby and house hunting.

Any insight would be great. We would love to have an address in a good area by the time school starts for our children on the 28th.
