I am coming to Maggie on Friday for two weeks yea!!! How is the weather there now??? We are hoping to see some snow, but I know most places have been warmer than normal, is it the same for Maggie Valley? Is the Parkway open around Maggie Valley and Waynesville? Can we get to the overlook at Waterrock Knob, love that place! What else is there to do there in the winter, I know we want to go to the Biltmore again. Are the shops in Maggie Valley open in the winter, like Aunt Bea's and Jelly Belly? Thanks for your help on this!

So glad you are finally getting to leave Texas for a visit here - I know from your posts how much you are looking forward to it. We are currently experiencing the mildest winter I can ever remember here though. I would say it is doubtful you will see snow in Maggie Valley - but you never know. There are no problems anywhere on the parkway currently that I am aware of so you should be able to get on and go where you want. Be sure and take a ride over to the Great Smokey Mountains National Park on hwy 441 - a fantastic drive with waterfalls and paths to hike. Also, get over to Dillsboro and ride the Great Smokey Mountain Railroad. The town is quaint and worth a visit for sure. And on the Parkway in Asheville be sure to visit the Folk Art Center (milepost 382) - really cool local textiles and art works by locals.

Have a great trip - keep your fingers crossed about the snow

Thanks for the reply! Even though it's a mild winter there, it will a LOT better than Houston. I'm glad we'll be able to get on the Parkway and we do plan to go to the Great Smokey Mt National Park, we love the trails over there. We've also been the Folk Art Center and love that too. We love to go to Craggy Gardens too. We will have a great time no matter what kind of weather we have
