The Chick-fil-A that just opened up in Waynesville in Dec '16 in front of the remodeled Ingles had forever lines of cars earlier in the year. Last time I was there was in early June on a Saturday, it appeared that the novelty seemed to have worn off and it was near dead in volume near lunch time at the new Chick-fil-A.

The grocery chain I personally wish would expand even more west of Asheville is Aldi. I only go to Publix to buy the deli, most everything else there to me is too pricey. Aldi plans to open many more stores in the US, so maybe something will give soon in some of those areas of the Great Smokys.

Default Publix #1640, Waynesville Pavilion, Waynesville, North Carolina

Publix's Waynesville Pavilion store will be Publix #1640.

I have read the Waynesville Pavilion site has been cleared as previous tenants have closed or relocated and buildings have been demolished.
