I am moving to Waynesville from Neptune Beach Florida and we are really looking forward to it. Waynesville has lots to do, if you just enjoy life. You know, the simple things. I am native Floridian and despise my hometown now thanks to all the people who came here and didnt like it and wanted to change things. They griped and griped until they got their way and now the natives are moving away in droves. I pray for the day I can wake up with nothing to do and have to use my imagination to keep myself busy. I also pray it stays that way forever. I have noticed most of the people griping on these blogs about how slow and backwards Waynesville is or the lack of the things to do say they are from Florida but I dont think they are originally from Florida. I think they are the same ones who ruined our area, so dont let them discourage you.
Waynesville rocks! We have a house there and love it. Next year, we plan on spending about half our time from May to October in Waynesville, and the other half in Florida. The year after, we're hoping to just stay in Waynesville from sometime in April to sometime in October or November.
The people are nice, the stores are reasonable, and you can't beat the summer weather, at least compared to Florida. The views, the cool air and the mountains are great, but the people up there are the best thing about Waynesville. Enjoy it!
