mlhm said it was in New Hampshire.

I don't need the reds so much myself, but a lot of people love them. I'm partial to the oranges.

Here's a nice shot at the Linn Cove Viaduct on Grandfather Mountain, North Carolina: https://www.facebook.com/Grandfather...type=3&theater

Sorry, but nowhere in the High Country - Boone, Banner Elk, Blowing Rock, etc. It's already past peak in most places in this area.

Yep. October is the month in the mountains. If you go this weekend you might get some good color around Lake Lure and Chimney Rock. Thanksgiving is way too late for fall foliage in much of anywhere in North Carolina and definitely too late for color in the mountains. Great time to go to the Christmas tree farms and see Biltmore done up for the season, though.

We still have some nice color left in Ashe county, at the lower elevations around 3000 feet. Peak here was about ten days ago.

I'm in Macon County (about 2120 ft elevation) and although there is some color now, most of the leaves have fallen.

However, even if you were here now, the smoke from the wildfires would have a big impact on your foliage viewing experience. I arrived on Tuesday and the weather was very nice, but when I woke up yesterday, I could hardly see across the lake where I'm staying. It's usually gorgeous in the mountains, but it would be a shame if someone took a trip to look at the colors and had limited visibility due to the smoke. I can't comment on the conditions in other areas of WNC, but it's very dry and we need rain badly.
