Normally my family and I have a large family meal together at Thanksgiving but this year we've decided we're going to get dressed up and go out. Does anyone have any suggestions on somewhere pretty nice to go? Maybe not quite as pricey as GPI but not as cheap like J&S Cafeteria.
We enjoy having Thanksgiving Day lunch at Montreat. It's certainly not formal or fancy, but it is a lovely buffet in a beautiful setting. We've been going for the last 5 years and thoroughly enjoy it.
ETA: We do dress up, as do most of the other diners. We also love taking some nice family photos in front of their LARGE fireplace and outside around the lake.

Reason: additional info
That looks beautiful but probably a little far from Hendersonville with small kids & elderly grandparents in tow ... I can imagine how that trip up would go ....

The other 2 locations we considered were the Old Stone Inn in Waynesville and the High Hampton Inn in Cashiers. I'm not sure if they still offer just Thanksgiving dinners to non-overnight guests. I also considered the Red Rocker in Black Mnt.
To add, kids under 5 are free at Montreat my little ones never eat enough to justify paying... However they do have fruit and a ton of desserts.
Suggestions for Thanksgiving Dinner Resturant in Asheville
My husband and I will be in Asheville the week of Thanksgiving. We will be staying at a B & B in Montford. We would like to have a somewhat traditional Thanksgiving dinner, but not a huge buffet style production. Any local favorites??

High Hampton Inn still has it's house party. It's for guests, and very pricey. We did it years ago. Great fun. Thanksgiving Package
