Hi,
My husband and I are thinking about moving to the Cullowhee area. I am looking to transfer to a 4 year school and would love to go to Western Carolina but we are worried about finding jobs in the area. My husband is in the IT field, he currently works at IBM. Does anyone have any information on technology jobs in the area? I've heard that western Carolina is not the best place to find technology jobs. Is that true?

The only places in NC with IT jobs is Raleigh area and Charlotte, although Charlotte seems to be losing those too.

That is not necessarily true, in fact it is wrong. There may not be a lot of IT jobs, but they exist. I have worked in IT for years, (now retired) but now teach in the IT field and there is a demand. Many companies, school systems, local government, etc. have a need for IT skills.

But don't expect the level of pay that you find working for big companies like IBM.
