Hi everyone:

I'm relocating to the Asheville area and would like to do small-scale, backyard-type farming. I'm here now and haven't noticed plowed fields.

Is the Asheville area too mountainous for farming? If so, where would be a good place?

Thank you,

marygwen

Umm. Just about anywhere outside the city limits. Swannanoa, Leicester, Fairview, Fletcher, Candler, Weaverville. Of course you'll want to get somthing that's not in a HOA because allmost all of them are going to put the kibosh on any kind of farming in the backyard.

I was in a HOA once; never again.
