Asheville Native, you should read more carefully without projecting your biases onto other people's words.

I simply asked a question: I wonder how many of those jobs will be filled locally?

It's a simple question, really.

Probably none at first, while they get this location off the ground and promote from within. I see this being a net gain in two years, if not immediately.

The Mills River Planning Board approved a commercial subdivision request for Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. Planning board approval is required when a large piece of property will be divided for commercial purposes. Sierra Nevada will be the first occupant in the town's industrial park and is expected to break ground on the project in May.

Sierra Nevada will host a grand opening celebration at its Mills River brewery Aug. 3, capping off a 15-day Beer Camp Across America tour, a series of beer festivals that will kick off in its hometown of Chico, Calif.

While the Aug. 3 event is the official grand opening of the Mills River brewery, Sierra Nevada spokesman Ryan Arnold said some aspects of the facility's Customer Experience, such as tours, may open to the general public before the big ticketed event.
