i live about a half mile from there. Honestly, that area is very iffy and you're getting close to the part of yonkers I call "the wild west." if you drive down the street from there it gets really shady really fast. Have you driven over to that area yet? if not, drive around the area. Not just the exact street but the surrounding neighborhoods also. despite living pretty close to there, I rarely drive in that direction, put it that way. Its not that the neighborhood itself is not safe, but the surrounding community over there is shady and those thatlvie there tend to filter-out onto those neighborhoods sometimes.
There are some rough blocks in there, your not too far off from the heart of them. In general the further north you head to the bottom of Park hill, and the further west you head towards Broadway you need to watch yourself. There's lots of transient housing catering to families not far off from there. If you have a car, then you'll be fine but if your walking to Broadway to catch a bus just keep your guard up.
Don't know about Euclid specifically, but Caryl and Bruce Ave., which isn't far, is not a decent area. I managed a building there and we had more drug related incidents than I can count. The super used to have to shoo the dealers away from the front of the building.
bad area. i remember in January 2005 watching the flames from an apartment bldg on Caryl Ave that had a fire, i've driven thru there for years. seems marginally passable during the day but at night very bad
That particular street you are mentioning is not too bad, walk towards South Broadway and it's a different story. Are you moving into a home or apartment building?
The Border with Riverdale or Woodlawn is not 2 cool.....I would stick 2 east Yonkers myself.....There's also a transit issue.....If you are in the middle you must take Bus to subway...Thats another issue to talk about..You can also checkout fleetwood in north Mount Vernon.....If there are no children school age......
