Good day all, My wife and i are going to be moving into the lewisboro/south salem area and currently we only have one car.

I will be commuting into Manhattan every day and my wife will be driving into White Plains. I leave for work early in the morning and would like to know if there is a local taxi service in the area. I may have to take a cab every morning and then back in the afternoon...so may want to arrange a monthly plan.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

You can take the bus from South Salem to Katonah station. HART bus

Katonah Taxi (located in Mount Kisco) is probably the easiest to use for Lewisboro, so I would give them a call to see what they would charge.

Thanks BMWGuy.....the problem with the Hart bus is that it will not get me to Katonah in time for the earliest train.

I called Katonah taxi and they wanted to charge $28 per ride to Katonah....a little crazy. At that rate it would be cheaper for me to buy a new car.

Many people do keep a car as a station car in the area, so you might look into something inexpensive and reliable that would be only used from the house to the station. You could park in Lot 3 in a metered spot, and since you're on the first train, should be able to get a meter. That way, the inevitable parking lot scratches and dings do not mess up a new, expensive car.
