My husband might apply for a job in Boca Raton (and would probably get it). We are 30 years old, no kids, have lived in the Louisville Ky area almost all our lives and are wondering about the area as far as safe places to live goes. we would be renting of course for awhile. I have heard bad things about south Florida, but I don't want that to keep us from a good opportunity if the opinions of some might be unfounded. We have always wanted to move to the atlantic coast of florida, but have mostly looked in the space coast area so this is all new to us. Just wondering if it is a bad idea or not, and if not where the safe areas are. Thanks!! I really appreciate the help!

Boca Raton and North Deerfield (West of 95!) are very nice areas to live. We're renting a 2/2 condo for $1100/month in an extremely safe neighborhood just south of Boca Raton if you do move, let me know if you want to check the place out.

Boca is a nice area, pretty affluent, clean, lots of restaurants and shopping.

What negative things have you heard about the area? That might help with some answers to your concerns. If you are referring to the forums, you can go on any city in the U.S and someone will be complaining about something.

we moved to boca last june and love it...we have made some wonderful friends, Our kids love it here as well, and have made really nice friends as well..my son is never home anymore on the Weekends which is a very nice change for us and for him
We are extremely happy with the schools they attend and what is there not to love?

Boca is the best choice.
The city is clean,safe, and real estate hasn't been this cheap in Boca for several years. I'm only able to spend my vacations there but I would move there full time tomorrow if not for that pesky job of mine in NY. I have a condo East of 95 which you can walk to pretty much everything, the beach is about 30/40 minute walk. Lots of recreation for all ages in Boca. Crime is here and there, seems to be alot of car break-ins at shopping centers so be carefull with that. I did alot of research on Boca before buying there several years ago, I believe it was a good choice.
