Man that property tax is really friggin' low. $200,000 house in my area nets about $4000 in property tax

What's a property tax? We have council rates here, which for our place (approx $450,000) is about $1600 yearly. Is it the same thing, an annual rate?

Unhappy because there's now 2 wasp nests on my porch, and I can't go outside and smoke an L in peace without getting attacked by one or two of them this is what warm/hot weather brings, yeah freaking great hoping for a freeze soon so these wasps and other pests can just go away finally.

What's it called when hot oil ounces out of the frying pan? I'm having a brain fart here , we call it salpicando in Puerto Rican Spanish

I'm jealous. The property taxes here in New Jersey are a major deterrent to purchasing property.

It's funny. Here in PA property taxes are a big debate topic in Harrisburg (Pennsylvania's capital, in case our foreign friends didn't know). Every election season they talk about eliminating it entirely, but that's not going to happen. They've been saying that how many years now?

Another funny thing, everyone that moves here from Maryland and the rest of the Northeast say PA is really cheap, lol. On the other hand, Midwestern and Southern transplants here say PA is outrageously expensive.

PA is much cheaper than NJ...at least with regards to housing and property taxes. The money that buys an outdated shack here will buy a roomy updated home in PA.
