I had a friend who lived in one of those, apartments still aren't that cheap, I suspect a lot of locals are in living in rent stabilized apartments.

Was ok in the daytime, might not be late at night. Some people yelling at each other in the middle of the night right outside the window. Also, I found a parking spot right in front of his building!

My mom's boss grew up in that neighborhoods, though it was different back then (heavily Irish-American). He liked it.

Central London is only expensive north of the River Thames, Southwark is not really expensive at all and is not considered desirable like Islington, Camden and Westminster. Even Hackney is very expensive to rent. All are pretty expensive in UK terms of course as the cheapest places in London are still pricey as far as most people are concerned.

i love that type of buildings! i would love to live there I love the stairs on the outside, just like from the movies haha

well who knows where i'll end up after uni

Well I live in walworth so certainly not desire able or expensive however there is a slight gentrication in process I think.

i wouldnt live in london unless i had at least £25k per annum job... rent and transport are ridicilously expensive there. Its nice to live near london and being able to go every weekend but no live there i dont think.

LOL. Eh, I'd think they're not the nicest looking, definite concrete jungle look. They're fine in the inside, though. My favorites from the neighborhood (much more expensive):

It depends where in london you live.

No offence but those areas are very bad with trouble.
