I'm actually from that neck of the woods originally and miss it all the time. The grey rainy winters are a bit blah but I prefer them to the Upper Midwest winters where everything is gray, brown and dead for months.
SE Michigan winters are horrid, go the UP of Michigan where snow is on the ground consistently, much nicer.
** Remember-- If you want snow, you don't want to be on the East side of a storm track!
Skipping over this Fridays storm for now....which will be rain for most of us and probably 30mph gusts..... The next storm on Tuesday the 13th might be more interesting.

German & GFS model is wet for the big cities with Northern New England snow and Western PA/Appalachian snows
Canadian has a snowstorm with the storm in perfect placement off the coast and enough cold air around.
The Euro is the warmest with the storm track over the Appalachians
I wish the rest of the South followed the Florida way. That way we can have a large region of nice sunny winter weather, without annoying cold snaps.
