SE Michigan winters are horrid, go the UP of Michigan where snow is on the ground consistently, much nicer.

Lots of snowflakes on the map this morning (places reporting snow). Front off the East coast.

Temps in the Teens and 20s in the Plains. That airmass is coming East for the weekend

** Remember-- If you want snow, you don't want to be on the East side of a storm track!

Skipping over this Fridays storm for now....which will be rain for most of us and probably 30mph gusts..... The next storm on Tuesday the 13th might be more interesting.

All different solutions out there right now.

German & GFS model is wet for the big cities with Northern New England snow and Western PA/Appalachian snows
Canadian has a snowstorm with the storm in perfect placement off the coast and enough cold air around.
The Euro is the warmest with the storm track over the Appalachians

Why do I get the feeling that this cold snap will be just a passing phase and that December will be well above normal

I wish the rest of the South followed the Florida way. That way we can have a large region of nice sunny winter weather, without annoying cold snaps.
