Can't believe my husband has to be in NY for this storm, but I broke down and told him about it before he left so at least he packed pants instead of shorts LOL.

Snow started in Western Maryland in earnest around 8:30am. We have about 4 inches so far and counting. The snow is heavy and wet as expected..........and oh so beautiful.

12:30pm map. Here we go. Just started snowing in some areas of Maryland, PA, and NJ.

Sunny in Boston but that's about to change. Gray slate skies here and Virga.

The blue outline is a discussion for heavy snow rates.

I just saw US 30 and the westbound PA Turnpike is currently shut down crossing Laurel Mountain. It's finally sticking here in the lowlands of Western PA but Somerset already has 3 or 4" too

10am-2pm Loop.

All that "blue snow" over NYC area is just Virga (moisture falling but not reaching the ground). Still too dry.

Philly is right on the edge! Must be wet slush snow falling.

Looks like Wilmington Delaware changed from snow to sleet now ice.

Pittsburgh changed to snow but light

I'm seeing 4-6" of snowfall in higher elevation of Maryland.

Models overnight trended with less precip in CT. Now the latest Euro confirms..

Latest Euro 10:1 snowfall.. Still big for NYC southward but man this could be a bust for CT now.

Just checked the precip amounts from Euro model for NYC and Philly...

Still big for NYC southward though. "Status Quo"

For NYC
00z: 0.85"
12z: 0.88"
If correct would mean 7-9" for NYC.

For Philly:
00z: 1.41"!
12z: 1.66"!
WOW! Not all would be snow though. Mix, Sleet, Ice, Rain will cut into that.
