I put Maquinchao in the poll, but actually the high Abra Pampa recorded the lowest temp in the country so far this year, with -15ºC on May 31th.

Balmaceda is just a small town that only exist due to the important airport.

Balmaceda has a small population because of its location, not its climate.

What is so special about its location that says it needs a small population. If you say isolation, how do you explain Perth, Auckland and Honolulu?

I don't know, the location of Balmaceda affect it climate, it isnt east enough to have warm summers and isnt west enough to have mild winters, the town itself suffer with cold outbreaks and some blizzards that dump the place for many days.

Cool photos - especially the first one.

Nothing here to report. Still no real winter weather yet.

I don't think it's going to be much of a winter here, but I'm hopeful The next few nights here are forecast to be below freezing for here, but it doesn't look like there will be much snow on the hills

There was a long time since i've seen Gfs showing snowfall to Buenos Aires lol, and they even show snow to Southern Brazil and Uruguay at the same latitude as northern Florida Oo, funny to see that, I dont trust in forecast above 240 hour, but all this explain the amount of native deciduous trees there.
This winter will be funny.
