There were two periods of thunderstorms in my area overnight last night, a period of heavy rain late this morning, and a period of heavy rain early this afternoon. It's been cloudy since yesterday afternoon, with only a brief hint of translucent sunshine around noon today. Chances of rain are high through Thursday. At least Memorial Day Weekend doesn't appear that it will be a total washout, though Memorial Day itself will have a chance of rain. It seems that there's always a week in May that's persistently cloudy and stormy here, and this appears to be it.
72 and overcast with a 51 dew. The rain lasted only a few minutes and it's been cloudy since. With the clouds, it only feels like low to mid 60s, but still nice. 5th day of 70s this month, still less than April.
Very low 60s. Perhaps a bit cooler right by the ocean. The wind was very much a factor.
Last 4 hours 12:30-4:30pm with surface winds on.
Winds are right off the ocean into NJ and is it coincidence that those clouds are disappearing trying to enter NJ? Maybe there's a wall? No complaints as we had a cloudy forecast bust. Sun all day and 60s!
Dry dews with winds off the ocean? Sounds weird.
NWS NY mentions the lows tonight and the ocean, below normal with the cool waters.

With a very dry atmosphere in place, dew pt. depressions of more than 30 degs, it will take time to moisten the sub cloud layer later tonight. Overnight lows of 45-55 degs are fcst, slightly lower than normal based on southeast winds off the cool Atlantic Ocean.
So far I got 0.24" of rain yesterday and 0.16" today. Nearby areas got more than I received.

...FLASH FLOOD WATCH LATE TONIGHT THROUGH MONDAY...
.A nearly stationary and weak frontal boundary along with the sea
breeze and convective outflow boundaries have all combined with a
favorable upper level pattern and a very moist and unstable
airmass to produce numerous showers and thunderstorms today, which
are likely to continue into at least early evening. Extensive
areas of 1 to 2 inch rainfall totals with pockets of 3 to 4 inches
have already fallen, and the areal extent and magnitude of these
amounts will increase as activity continues into this evening.
Late tonight, an upper level disturbance is forecast to track
across southern Texas, which is expected to initiate a large area
of showers and thunderstorms that will subsequently spread east
into the area. As these showers and thunderstorms track across the
area late tonight through Monday, an additional 2 to 3 inches of
rain with locally higher amounts are possible.
A chance of rain and thunderstorms, then periods of rain and possibly a thunderstorm after 8am
40 percent chance of rain before 2am
A slight chance of rain between 8am and 2pm
A 40 percent chance of showers, mainly after 9pm
A 50 percent chance of showers
A 30 percent chance of showers
A 50 percent chance of showers
