It feels like fall started in a day. The high in Bowling Green, KY (which is where I go to school, and climatically almost identical to where I live as well) took a spill from 92 F / 33 C yesterday to 72 F / 22 C today, not to mention that yesterday most of the day was in the high 80s and low 90s (30-33 C) and sunny whereas most of today was in the mid-high 60s (18-20 C) and cloudy/rainy and windy.
Nashville's figures were 94 F / 34 C and 78 F / 26 C.
Highs forecast to stay in the 70s range in the next week, before going back up to mid-high 80s by October 5.
Temps in the 60s with rain falling. Doors and windows open listening to the sound of rain with the dripping from the trees. A bit Muggy but with a light breeze
Haven't checked the gauge yet. My electronic gauge says 0.40".
NWS NY. The storm lasting till next week?! So first Hermine meanders off the coast for days couple weeks ago. Now we got this Cut off Low meandering over the Ohio Valley. Interesting pattern!

.SYNOPSIS...
A weakening cold front moves through this morning and stalls just
offshore this afternoon. This boundary remains in the vicinity
during Wednesday while weak high pressure builds in from the
north. Then, low pressure over the Ohio Valley and Mid Atlantic states will meander about this region into the weekend bringing an extended period of unsettled weather. The low will gradually lift through New England early next week.
The long term period starts with cutoff low pres over the Ohio Valley trapped between ridging to the east and west. This will result in the system meandering about this area into the weekend before the ridge to the east finally begins to break down allowing it to track through the eastern Great Lakes and New England early next week. Confidence decreases in the finer details...although a
frontal boundary extending from the sfc low in combination with
strengthening isentropic lift will result in much needed overrunning
rainfall Wed night into Fri morning. While the periods of heavier
rainfall remain uncertain there is a signal that Thu night could
be one timeframe where heavier pcpn does occur with mid level vort
energy passing through.
Unsettled pattern will continue into the weekend with abundant
cloud cover and perhaps a transition to more showery pcpn with mid
level ridging trying to build in from the east. Moisture transport will still be originating from the Gulf of Mexico under this pattern. Warm front may push through on Sun as the system begins
to lift through the Great Lakes. This will also push the heaviest
rainfall to the north as well...resulting in decreasing PoPs
through Mon.
Removed thunder as the lower heights associated with the deep low are too far west...thus it remains too warm aloft for any elevated instability.
Here's rain total from NAM12km to Friday. Best instability is always near the right side of the low.. so those areas are lucky with the heavy rains.
You'll be complaining about the endless clouds in a few days
After what we've been through with the endless sun, dryness and heat, I am ecstatic about the forecast!
Having clouds keep temps from getting too warm during the day is nothing to complain about.
We should get breaks of sun though as the ULL is not directly over us.
I definitely want want those nice clear, crisp fall days too but I need a recharge and this is a good start. The sun was too much and it's still strong this time of year

That's hopeful; that early May week was depressing Chillier than this

I been enjoying past 3 days to be honest but whats happening now is, I'm getting used to the 60s and now that's feeling too warm. Bring on the max of 40s! But yeah, it's been a blessing compared to what we been through! The Pattern is changing right in front of our faces. DIE RIDGE DIE!
BTW ....... GFS hits Southern New England while Euro hits Mexico. WeatherBell decides to show GFS.

Regarding the sun....... Check it out.. Current map.. Greylock is starting to see the sun now. See the edge? It's pushing East. It's brightening up here now but I'm just in a small pocket. Edge is closer to you then me.
That big orange circle is the Upper Low. (Big spinning storm in the upper levels) (a cool pool of air). Blocked from moving East so it is dropping south now. Would be one snowy week for Great Lakes if this was December. Wow.
