Sometimes I feel so hot I think I am going to burst into flames

Hot and humid.

And the Gulf of Mexico maybe warmer this year so we could see a hurricane.

How about you folks out in the West? How about the Pacific Northwest? What do you folks think will happen out there this summer?

I LOVE summer, as long as the temps dont go above 80-82 degrees. Above that and I start to get uncomfortable. I remember a few nights last year where our LOW was in the 80s. UGH.
Funny.

I LOVE summer too, as long as the temps stay above 65 F, at least during daylight hours. (preferably until at least midnight. )

I love summer as a season where long sleeves are only for fashion, long pants only for "dirty-work" or walking "in the bush."

This year we are in a la nina. during a la nina the pacific ocean is colder and brings more storms than normal to the northern united states and west.

this year will be wetter than average almost everywhere except the gulf coast and the central plains...

during a la nina in the spring, we tend to get HUGE severe weather outbreaks, we are all ready seeing signs of what is to come this spring in the past few weeks with the tornado outbreak in kentucky/tennessee, and another today in texas/louisiana

due to our la nina, the temperatures will be average this summer or just slightly above throughout the lower 48, more severe weather and rain in the upper midwest and ohio valley, and very dry in some areas along the gulf coast, unless this year we see monster hurricanes, and i have a feeling we will.

Well at least it isn't hard to find weather warm enough to swim...

Where I'm from, summer is almost your only chance and even then, there'll be a few days you REALLY don't want to get wet.
Another thing here is, typically by sunset or just before the air's too cool to swim so except during a heat wave, there are only a few hours a day where it might be comfortable. Add up all the days that are comfortable to swim outdoors, we probably average 80 a year, leaving 285 days unswimmable. Add up all the hours of comfortable swimming weather, probably an average of 8-10 hours a day, even though our days are 15.5 hours long up here and you have an annual average of 640-800 hours acceptable for swimming, out of 8,760 total hours per year.

I LOVE WATERSPORTS, but I just realized that out of one whole year,
comfortable outdoor swimming without a wetsuit is only possible 7-9% of the time.

In Georgia we have had a drought for 2 years now and they say this summer looks to be hot and dry too.

My thoughts and prayers do go out to the state of Georgia. After all the drought you've been through, you need some relief.
