I don't have to create an impression to make my climate feel warmer, as the stereotype is "it's always -100F all year long".

It'll be interesting to see how long Britain goes without a prime minister. Their government really does lack leadership.

I think it's understandable. After all, Finland hosts 50% of the arable land above the 60th parallel north. And the N hemisphere has a lot of land. I wouldn't be surprised if I went to the bloody Hebrides and people would ask me if it isn't nice how warm it is down here.

Oops. Overlooked this post. Yeah, the GOMEX is a ***** during summer. I've always noticed Tampa seems to get noticeably warmer nights than surrounding areas. Perhaps the Tampa Bay and the UHI also has an effect.

UHI also infects Orlando as well. Wonder if it's because of all the asphalt and concrete there.
