Yep, Diet Coke tastes horrible and is probably worse for you anyway, it's a stupid decision.
I'm amazed games in the US aren't called off at those sorts of temperatures. There's nothing manly about playing on frozen pitches at sub zero temperatures, it's dangerous and risk of injury from falling on frozen grass must be high.. At -20C they'd have to be layered up a lot to play, I can't think how it would work

Lol, thus is the greatness of football. And no, they don't layer up, some of them play with long sleeves (undershirt) beneath their uniform but generally receivers don't even wear those.

The Vikings game on Sunday could potentially be the 10th, or so, coldest NFL game ever played. So playing in extreme cold is hardly unprecedented. But it's all part of the game, and that's what makes it great.
Quote:
0 degrees [-18 C] (or colder) would be the coldest home playoff game in Vikings history, and there have been only nine games in NFL history where the temperature never rose above 0.

Studs don't work on frozen grass, it's just asking to end up with ankle/leg/knee injuries.

Yep, I remember as a kid our Sunday football matches used to get cancelled if the ground was frozen, it didn't happen that often though. At a professional level it would just be dangerous and pointless to risk injury, nobody can perform well at temperatures as low as -20C.. at that point undersoil heating probably stops working.
It's for that reason that in the Champion's League (European football competition) where the group stage of 6 games (groups of 4 teams, 3 home games and 3 away games) runs from September - early December teams from Russia have to play their home games first as by the time mid November comes around it can be freezing
They always blame something too. "Genetics, big boned, etc" No. You're just a lazy ****.
I love big boned girls. That's really the key to being "thick" instead of just fat.
