I typically take a non-interventionist approach to global affairs, but this is one exception where I believe the presence of Western ground troops in the Middle East could actually help if applied appropriately.
Even excluding their effectiveness, our presence in Syria won't make much if any difference, and we currently lack the capability to help significantly. Cameron just wants to look big and tough to the idiots who live here.
It's also worrying because what if there is a Paris-style attack in response to our involvement. These airstrikes at best have no impact on our safety and at worst seriously worsen it.
