I think I'm going to call it quits for summer 2015 now. I've been optimistic and hopefully of some sustained warmth since June but it's never materialised, and it appears the GFS once again lead us up the garden path. Output has gone from 26C and sunny on my birthday to 17C and wet. Even tomorrow was looking nice but all of a sudden we're expecting rain and temperatures no higher than 18C.
Following the weather in this country just isn't any fun.
Summer's not over yet here. Good chance of being the hottest day of the year today. Our coldest days of the winter were similarly late in the season, but that was from record cold, this is just a normal summer hot spell when previous ones weren't that strong.
Yep, I'm giving up too. This summer has been a bit of a let down really.. the start of July promised to be great, but after that one hot day it never really got going again.. and since then it has been pretty poor.
Potentially some decent 28C/18C days next week, in fact the minima forecast for here are between 16C-19C all of next week, but I'll be on holiday by then so what's the use. By the time I get back there will only be a short period left for some hot weather, then slowly but surely by the end of September we will be heading towards mild cloudy weather until November.
3pmEDT Temps & departures. 10+ above normal in Northeast. 15+ below normal in the Plains. Edge of front entering Illinois. Sooooo far from here. Stupid Ridge. And the core is right off shore to my south..figures.
Don't think I ever been in the 50s or low 60s on a mid August afternoon. Wonder how that feels...
Days like this reminds me of the 80s and 90s dog days of summer and having no AC. Was a miserable time yet I remember them.. Hazy, Hot, Humid
Tropical air mass down here in Georgia. One time it will be raining hard, then sunny, then another storm comes in and it's raining hard again. We've probably gotten at least a good 2 inches so far today.
Random pop-up convective thunderstorm. Not that much rain, but rather unexpected. 90°F, dewpoint 68°F
Is this the first time you New Englanders have seen near 70 dewpoints this year?
